Top Things to do in Playa Vista

As you’re walking through the area for food, you’ll probably notice how many activities and outdoor areas Playa Vista has to offer. There’s always something to do, regardless of your interests or hobbies — here are some of our favorites:

Ballona Discovery Park

A beautiful two-acre outdoor laboratory and museum, Ballona Discovery Park is home to countless plant and wildlife species. Here, you can learn about the gardens and animals that call this habitat home, walk several trails, and explore the gateway to the wetlands. It’s an amazing opportunity to appreciate the nature around us in Playa Vista and take some time to learn something new!

Playa Vista Farmers' Market

The Playa Vista Farmers’ Market is renowned for its food and attractions every Saturday from 9 am until 2 pm. From organic fruits, delicious pastries, and homemade guacamole to jewelry, live performances, and crafts for kids, you’d have to visit many times to experience everything it has to offer. While they’re open rain or shine, it’s especially great to spend a sunny Saturday morning here, whether you came for the food, music, atmosphere, or just to get out of the house.

The Sports Park

Speaking of getting out of the house, The Sports Park in south Playa Vista has tons of activities and sports facilities to burn energy or get some exercise. At seven acres and full of features such as sports fields (soccer and baseball), basketball and tennis courts, a playground, and more, this park is perfect for all ages to let loose and have some fun.

Loyola Marymount University

Whether you’re looking at colleges or not, Loyola Marymount’s campus is easy to lose track of time while exploring. From the sports fields and plazas to vibrant sunken gardens and the iconic clock tower, there’s plenty to see. Even better, they also offer both in-person and virtual tours to experience their beautiful and unique campus.
