San Marcos is a river town, a college town, and one of the best stops on the I-35 corridor between Austin and San Antonio — and Hopdoddy is right in the middle of it. We're in the Lyndon Shopping Center on Springtown Way, just off I-35 and minutes from Texas State University, Bobcat Stadium, the San Marcos Premium Outlets, and Tanger Outlets. Whether you're a Bobcat heading to a game, a parent on move-in weekend, a shopper making the outlet run, or you just spent the afternoon floating the San Marcos River, this is where you come to eat. Everything here is made the way it should be — buns baked in-house, fries hand-cut from Chipperbec potatoes, and a full bar with hand-shaken margaritas, craft cocktails, local drafts, and boozy milkshakes. San Marcos has its share of college-town burger spots, but only one where the burger gets its own tray. If you're driving through on I-35 between Austin and San Antonio, we're worth the exit. If you live here, we're worth making a regular thing. Come for lunch, stay for happy hour, or refuel after a day on the river.

Looking for the best happy hour in San Marcos? Hopdoddy hosts the happiest of them all with 1/2 off cocktails, beer & wine Monday through Thursday from 3-6PM. Our sliders & crispy chicken tenders are the perfect after work (or class) snack. And of course we have bowls & bowls of sharable fries, grab a few for the table.

Our menu goes way beyond the classic cheeseburger, though ours is pretty perfect. Try the Wagyu Smash, the spicy El Diablo, a Roosevelt bison burger, or our Nashville Hot Fried Chicken sandwich. Whether you're craving beef, bison, tuna, or chicken, every burger is built different and made fresh when you order it. More flavors of hand-cut fries than you'll find anywhere - made fresh daily from potatoes grown specifically to be fries. Every bowl is built for sharing. Our tossed and sauced crispy brussels sprout leaves are the sleeper hit on the menu. Unlike your typical burger spot, every Hopdoddy has a full bar with hand-shaken margaritas, craft cocktails, local beer on tap, and boozy milkshakes.
Proximity to Airport
Our San Marcos burger bar location is less than four miles and an eight minute drive west of the San Marcos Regional Airport (HYI).
Nearby Attractions
Most nearby attractions are west of us, such as Bobcat Ballpark (where the Texas State Bobcats play baseball), which is half a mile from our front door. There are also dog parks and skate parks in the area, but if you go west across the San Marcos River, you can also visit the Charles S Cock House Museum. An 1860s Greek Revival house, it’s the oldest in San Marcos and a great look back in time. Southwest of our location is the San Marcos Discovery Center where you can explore the wildlife and nature of the area with kids, friends, or on your own.
Parking
The plaza we are located in has plenty of parking that can be accessed from either Thorpe Ln. or Springtown Way (from Thorpe Ln. at the western end or IH 35 S at the eastern end).
