Memphis knows food. BBQ, soul food, hot chicken — this city doesn't play around. So when we opened on Poplar Avenue, we knew we had to earn it. Hopdoddy sits in Poplar Commons at the corner of Poplar and Perkins Extended, right in the heart of East Memphis. We're across the street from the Memphis Botanic Garden, a few minutes from the University of Memphis, and an easy drive from Overton Park, the Memphis Zoo, Overton Square, and Laurelwood Shopping Center. Whether you're running errands at Nordstrom Rack and Ulta next door, catching a movie at Malco Paradiso, or heading home after a day on campus, we're right on the way. Everything here is made the way it should be — buns baked in-house, fries hand-cut from Chipperbec potatoes, and a full bar with hand-shaken margaritas, craft cocktails, local beer, and boozy milkshakes. In a city full of legendary food, we're not trying to replace your go-to spots — we're trying to be the burger bar that belongs next to them.

Hopdoddy serves handcrafted burgers across a lineup you won't find anywhere else — from the rich, buttery Wagyu Smash to the sushi-inspired Ahi Tuna burger to the fiery Nashville Hot Fried Chicken. With Angus beef, bison, tuna, and chicken on the menu, we think about burgers differently so you don't have to settle for the same old thing. Hand-cut daily from Chipperbec potatoes, our shareable fry bowls come in a huge lineup of flavors — from Parmesan Truffle to Hot Honey Sweet Potato and beyond. Add our crispy brussels sprout leaves tossed in your favorite sauce for the perfect side to any burger. Cold beer, hand-shaken margs, craft cocktails, and spiked milkshakes — we're a burger bar with a real bar. Proximity to Airport
About 15 minutes from Memphis International Airport (MEM) via I-240. We're on Poplar Avenue in East Memphis, which puts us right between the airport and everywhere you're probably headed — Beale Street, Sun Studio, the National Civil Rights Museum, Overton Park, the Memphis Zoo, and Graceland is just a few minutes south. Easy stop on the way in or the way out.
Nearby Attractions
Just across Poplar Ave and Southern Ave from us is the beautiful Memphis Botanic Garden, where they have events, workshops, plant sales, and more. If you want to stay inside and watch an IMAX movie, the Malco Paradiso Cinema is a four-minute drive east of the restaurant. For visits or students at University of Memphis, we’re three or four minutes east of campus and perfect for a quick lunch. Don’t forget to check out Golf and Games Family Park nine minutes northeast for fun activities like minigolf, arcades, laser tag, bumper boats, karting, and more!

Our Poplar Commons location has convenient parking right outside our door and around the building that can be accessed from either Poplar Ave or Perkins Extd.
