Top Things to do in The Woodlands

There’s no shortage of activities to fill your days in The Woodlands, whether you’re exploring on your own, looking for things to do with friends, or have kids to entertain. As mentioned earlier, the area is very family-friendly and has lots to do, both indoors and outdoors.

George Mitchell Preserve

One of those outside options is the George Mitchell Nature Preserve, which is a spectacular forested area that is nearly 2,000 acres and has miles upon miles of trails for hiking and biking. It’s one of the best places in The Woodlands to appreciate its natural beauty and outdoor recreation opportunities. There are many animal species that you might spot, as well as bordering Texas TreeVentures for those looking to add some adventure to their sightseeing experience.

The Woodlands Farmer’s Market

Every Saturday morning at Grogan’s Mill, local vendors come to The Woodlands Farmer’s Market to offer meats, produce, arts, and much more, all while live music is being played. If you’re looking for fresh and locally-sourced food, there’s no better way to spend your morning exploring the stalls and talking to the locals of The Woodlands.

Forest Oasis Waterpark

Also in Grogan’s Mill is the Forest Oasis Waterpark, which lives up to its name and fits right into The Woodlands’ combination of nature and more urban atmosphere. It has greenery everywhere you look and is a great way to cool off and relax. If the kids aren’t interested in relaxing, the waterpark also offers a splash park, several waterslides, and more. For those without kids, there’s also a spa, firepits, food and drink services, cabanas, and plenty of other amenities to enjoy.

Mossrock Studio & Fine Art Gallery

If you’re more interested in the arts, The Woodlands is home to the Mossrock Studio and Fine Art Gallery. Here, you can find the works of both new and established artists, with a variety of styles and media from landscape and painting to impressionistic and sculpting. They also feature ceramics, jewelry, and even have classes taught by the owner of the studio so you can try your hand at pottery!

Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion

Also known simply as The Pavilion by locals, the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is an amazing concert venue that hosts a ton of events and live shows. Like The Woodlands being ranked as the best place to live in the country, this is also often ranked as one of the best outdoor amphitheaters in the country, if not the world. With an incredible list of past performers that include Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kenny Chesney, Jimmy Buffet, and many more, seeing a show here should be at the top of any music lover’s list.

Just a mile northwest of The Pavilion, across Lake Woodlands, is our new restaurant where you can grab a handmade burger and cold drinks after a show, or while you’re out and between activities. We’re bringing our famous fries, mouthwatering burgers, and so much more to The Woodlands, so swing by and grab a bite today!
